Please read these terms and conditions of sale carefully, please come back to this page for future reference. It is also advisable to retain a copy of your sales order for future reference in your email inbox.
Our rights
If you continue to browse and use this website, you are agreeing to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions of use, which together with our privacy policy govern dimmer.co.uk’s relationship with you in relation to this website.
Dimmer.co.uk reserves the right to modify or withdraw, temporarily or permanently, this website (or any part thereof) with or without notice to you and you confirm that we shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification to or withdrawal of the Website; and/or change the Conditions from time to time, and your continued use of the Website (or any part thereof) following such change shall be deemed to be your acceptance of such a change. It is your responsibility to check regularly to determine whether these conditions have been changed. If you do not agree to any change to the conditions then you must stop using the website.
Description and price of the goods
The description and price of the goods you order will be as shown on dimmer.co.uk at the time you place your order.
Every effort is made to ensure that prices shown on this website are accurate at the time you place your order. Should there be an error, dimmer.co.uk will inform you as soon as possible and offer you the option of reconfirming your order at the correct price, or cancelling your order. If dimmer.co.uk does not receive an order confirmation within 14 days of informing you of the error, the order will be cancelled automatically and the customer will be refunded. If you cancel, dimmer.co.uk will refund or re-credit you for any sum that has been paid by you or debited from your credit card for the goods.
Back orders/items that are not in stock at time of order:
In the unusual event that an item is not in stock when you placed your order, the maximum expected wait is 21 days from time of order. Should an item be delayed, or be likely to be delayed we will let you know via e-mail or phone and you have the option to cancel without charge.
Back order shipping policy:
1. We will hold orders that have back ordered items on, if the back ordered items are going to come into stock within 14 days.
2. We will hold orders that have back ordered items on, if the back ordered items are required to make the whole order operate.
3. If you are in the UK – we will part ship an order (and only charge you ONCE for delivery) if the back ordered items will take longer than 14 days, except for rule 2 above.
If you are outside the UK – We will not part ship orders unless asked to, delivery charges will apply for each shipment.
Payment
Payment for the goods and delivery charges can be made by any method shown on the payment pages.
Goods remain the property of dimmer.co.uk until full cleared payment has been received including with any delivery charges.
Please note there may be additional delivery charges for international orders, you will receive an invoice from dimmer.co.uk for any difference in international postal costs.
There will be no dispatch of goods until cleared funds are received.
Should the payment be returned at a later stage, we reserve the right to regain possession of the goods that we own legal title of.
Delivery

If you fail to take delivery because you have cancelled your contract under the Distance Selling Regulations, dimmer.co.uk shall refund or credit you within 30 days for any sum that has been paid by you or debited from your credit card for the goods, less any expenses incurred for failed delivery.
Every effort will be made to deliver the goods as soon as possible after your order has been accepted. However, dimmer.co.uk will not be liable for any loss or damage suffered by you through reasonable or unavoidable delay in delivery. Where possible we will email & call with customer updates.
When your order arrives you must check for damages and or shortages. Claims for damages and or shortages have to be made within 7 days of receipt of your delivery.
Risk/Title of goods
The goods are at your risk from the time of delivery.
Cancellation and Returns Policy
You have the right to cancel the contract after you receive the goods, in accordance with relevant sales laws, providing the goods have not been fitted or modified in any way and providing they are returned with the original packaging and providing the goods are in a resalable condition. Please note; that as if you do decide to cancel an order we do charge a restocking fee of 40% for all returned goods.

If you exercise your right of cancellation after the goods have been dispatched, you will be responsible for returning the goods to dimmer.co.uk at your own cost. The goods must be returned to the address shown below. You must take reasonable care to ensure the goods are not damaged in the meantime or in transit.
Once you have notified dimmer.co.uk that you are cancelling the order, we will refund or re-credit you within 30 days.
All dimmers and switches are custom made – assembled to order to the customers plate finish specification, as such they may not be refundable or else subject to a restocking fee.
Should the goods be returned in an unsatisfactory condition, dimmer.co.uk reserves the right to reject an application for a refund for goods that have been damaged and will return the damaged stock back to the client (return postage fees to be paid by client).
Warranty
Dimmer.co.uk guarantees each new unit, for a period of two years from the date of purchase, to be free from defects in materials or workmanship under conditions of normal use and when installed and operated according to the current product specifications and in accordance with local safety standards including National Electrical Code, Underwriters Laboratories, CSA, BS, EN, VDE, NEMKO etc. dimmer.co.uk shall, at its option, repair or replace any defective unit which in its opinion, has not been improperly installed, wired, handled, insulated, used or maintained, provided, however, that dimmer.co.uk shall not be required to remove, install or re-install any defective unit and provided that dimmer.co.uk is promptly notified of said defect within the aforementioned warranty period. THERE ARE NO EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES GIVEN, NEITHER OF MERCHANTABILITY NOR OF ANY OTHER TYPE.
If the goods supplied to you are damaged on delivery, you should notify dimmer.co.uk in writing via email within 7 days. Initially you will be responsible for returning the goods to dimmer.co.uk at your own cost; your return will be inspected upon delivery to us and providing the goods have been returned as required you may be issued with a refund for the carriage costs incurred. The goods must be returned to the address shown below. You must take reasonable care to ensure the goods are not damaged further in the meantime or in transit.
Should the goods supplied to you develop a defect while under warranty or you have any other complaint about the goods, you should notify dimmer.co.uk in writing via the e-mail address telephone number shown, as soon as possible. Initially you will be responsible for returning the goods to dimmer.co.uk at your own cost; your return will be inspected upon delivery to dimmer.co.uk and providing the goods have been returned as required you may be issued with a refund for the carriage costs incurred. The goods must be returned to the address shown in the contact page. You must take reasonable care to ensure the goods are not damaged further in the meantime or in transit.
Installation / Fitting
You must ensure that any installation / fitting of goods purchased from dimmer.co.uk is carried out by a qualified electrician.
From 1st January 2005 any installation / fitting of non portable lighting may be subject to Part P of the current building regulations, for more information please contact your local building regulations office.
Failure to have none portable lighting installed / fitted by a qualified electrician will invalidate your warranty and may be in breach of the current building regulations.
Any electrician should be able to demonstrate one of the following qualifications: BRE Certification Limited, British Standards Institute, ELECSA Limited, NICEIC Certification Services, N.A.P.I.T.
Limitation of Liability
In no event shall dimmer.co.uk or any other seller be liable for any consequential damages, nor for any repair or replacement work undertaken. Dimmer.co.uk accepts no liability for the use or misuse of any of its products, nor does it accept any liability for any third party equipment connected to any of its products. dimmer.co.uk does not accept any claims relating to injury, loss of income, or costs as a result of using or fitting any of it’s products, nor shall dimmer.co.uk’s liability on any claim for damages arising out of the manufacture, sale, installation, delivery or use of said unit ever exceed the price paid therefor.
Under no circumstances will dimmer.co.uk be held responsible for but not limited to additional electrician or any other contractor fees that arise because of but not limited to late, damaged or incorrect delivery of goods.
Data Protection
Dimmer.co.uk will take all reasonable precautions to keep the details of your order and payment secure, but in the rare case that dimmer.co.uk is negligent, we will not be liable for unauthorized access to information supplied by you.
Applicable Law
These terms of sale and the supply of the goods will be subject to English law and the English courts will have jurisdiction in respect of any dispute arising from the contract.
